The Great Women Artists x Tate Late

Tate Modern, London

22 February 2019

Set up on Level 4 Concourse at the Tate Modern's Blavatnik Building, on view was a digital display of women from art history starting with Hildegard of Bingen to the present day accompanied by a giant eight-metre high timeline designed by Alice Skinner (in reaction to Gombrich's timeline in The Story of Art – which only included one woman), a pop-up women artist-themed photo booth, sections where you can learn about the women from key movements in art history, and two quizzes on the theme of women artists.
